•     1990 - Allgood Technology formed at Loch Ness, Scotland - because we wanted to live in the Highlands!
•     1991 - First customer: AMS Neve plc, Burnley - mixing desk parts.
•     1993 - Founder member and secretary for The Surface Mount And Related Technologies (SMART) Group in Scotland
•     1996 - Relocated to Telford, Shropshire - for better weather
•     1998 - Major investment in manufacturing software - Aegis CircuitCAM & CheckPoint BOM cleaning suite
•     2001 - Moved into automatic placement with two Dynapert 318's
•     2002 - All reflow soldering now by condensation reflow. BGAs now undertaken using Fritsch uPlacer.
•     2004 - Dynaperts replaced by first MYDATA TP9-UFP Pick and Place machine linked to CircuitCAM for offline programming.
•     2008 - Peter receives a SMART Fellow award for contributions to the industry
•     2009 - Second Asscon Vapour Phase solderer installed
•     2012 - Second Mydata TP9 commissioned. Second SMTech 100MV solder printer installed.

• National Health Service Higher Clerical Officer Medical Records.
• Excellent organiser, financial controller and planner. Particular aptitude for crafts and precision work.
• External interests: Family, cross-stitch embroidery, creative activities.

• 1977 - 1980 Apprenticeship Post Office Telephones (later BT plc) Quality Assurance Division
• 1980 Technical Officer, duties including service and calibration of all types of mainly RF test equipment.
• 1981 Joined BT Fulcrum Manufacturing R&D division developing 8080 and Z80 MPU based systems. Team member with responsibility for processor design on Air Defence Electronic Keyboard System (ADEKS) line concentrator project. First users London Fire Brigade HQ and Gatwick Airport Control Tower.
• 1982 Promoted to Assistant Executive Engineer. Research with parallel processing with the InMOS Transputer & OCCAM software.
• 1983 Design Team member on 140-565MBit/s plesiochronous optical multiplexer and long haul fibre optic project.  
• 1985 - 88 Team member on SyncMux - a 2-140MBit drop and insert mux (SONET type), key responsibilities: transfer to production of surface mount PCBs, system EMC testing and advisor to the company on advanced manufacturing techniques. Represented BT Fulcrum at ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute), member of BT Product Styling Committee.
• 1988 Promoted to Senior Design Engineer, leading SyncMux project during hand over to production.
• 1990 Left BT to form Allgood Technology Ltd.

Peter Allgood

•  Registered with the Engineering Council as an Engineering Technician.

External interests:

• Aviation - learnt to fly at Inverness 1993
• Amateur Radio - licensed in 1979, callsign G8RXZ
• Shooting but only targets, nothing furry.  Main sport is clay pigeon - particularly skeet but also licensed for small and full-bore target rifle and muzzle loading, currently shooting historic black powder revolver and flintlock pistols.
• A wide range of other interests including photography, engineering, science and technology, computing, music, reading.
